Who’s behind the usm-markt?

From the heart of Zurich to the whole of Switzerland: the story behind the name. It all began in 1999. When Ralf Aerne founded Stauffacher Handels GmbH, the vibrant Stauffacher district in Zurich was our first home. Even though our journey took us via several stops before finally leading us to Wangen in the canton of Schwyz, one thing has remained constant over the decades: our name, which recalls our roots, and our passion for timeless furniture.

A new chapter and a strong promise

In 2016, Roland Hunkeler took over as managing director. Under his leadership, we have continued to develop consistently, whilst remaining true to our tradition. One milestone of which we are particularly proud: since 2022, usm-markt official USM Second Hand Partner.

What does this mean for you? It’s a promise of quality. We guarantee you furniture that not only looks stunning, but has also been tested to the highest standards and assembled correctly. We make no compromises: we use only genuine USM components, without exception. This ensures that your design classic will remain exactly what it’s meant to be, even years from now – an original that retains its value.

The heart of it all: our team

Behind every shelf, every sideboard and every consultation are people who know their craft. At our head office in the ‘Leuholz 14’ in Wangen (SZ) and in our showrooms, we work hand in hand to make your dream home a reality:

Management: Roland Hunkeler runs the company with vision and an eye for detail.

Advice & Sales: Denise Woodtli (Wangen) as well as Manuela Haas and Evelyn Reichert (showroom) are on hand to help you find exactly the right piece of furniture for you.

Workshop & Assembly: As workshop manager, Dani Stoll ensures everything runs smoothly and that deadlines are met. He is supported by Linda, our USM fitter.

Logistics & Warehouse: To ensure your treasures arrive safely, Paolo Fracassi (dispatch) and Bane Nedeljkovic (delivery and warehouse) handle the process professionally.

Administration: Manuela Haas keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, including the accounts.
